8th Grade Orchestra
8th grade orchestra builds on the skills previously developed. The curriculum focuses on the building of advanced performance skills in preparation for the advanced literature of High School Orchestra. Students will also use the Solos and Etudes 2 book to build technique. During the third quarter students will prepare a Solo or Ensemble, with the option of either performing at the District Solo/Ensemble Festival or for critique by the teacher. During the second semester, the 7th and 8th grade orchestra are combined for performances and participate in various activities and concerts together.
Students in 8th Grade meet twice per week for a total of 90 minutes.
